Is life with your dog not quite how you had imagined?

When your dog’s behaviour is affecting everyday life, it can leave you feeling worried, frustrated or unsure what to do next.

At Heart Dog Behaviour, I provide compassionate, evidence-based behaviour support for dogs and their guardians across Kent and online. Together, we’ll look beyond the behaviour, understand what your dog may be communicating and find a realistic way forward.

You don’t have to do this alone.

Support that starts with understanding

If life with your dog has become difficult, it can be hard to know where to turn. You may already have tried different advice and still feel unsure about what to do next. Behaviour is communication, though, and there is usually more going on beneath the surface.

I’ll take the time to listen and get to know both you and your dog so we can understand what may be driving their behaviour. You won’t be judged or given a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, we’ll work together on a practical plan that feels realistic for you and your dog.

How I can help

Every dog and family is different, so the support I offer is tailored to your individual needs.

Children Who Are Frightened of Dogs

Gentle, structured support for children who feel worried or frightened around dogs. As a Kids Around Dogs Approved Professional, I help children build their knowledge and confidence gradually, without pressure and at a pace that feels comfortable for them

Feeling heard, understood and supported

"We have been working with Laura for over a month now and she has helped us so much already. After adopting a young, large and reactive dog, we were open to all the advice we could get to give us techniques to help him thrive.

Laura has taken the time to get to know us and Marlon and deliver tailored advice and guidance, ensuring Marlon is treated as an individual rather than giving us generic advice which might not apply to him.

We finish every session feeling heard, understood, never judged, extremely supported and generally more positive about our reactivity journey with Marlon. We can’t recommend Laura enough.”

Hi, I’m Laura—it’s lovely to have you here

I’m a canine behaviour consultant and the founder of Heart Dog Behaviour. I believe every behaviour tells us something about how a dog is feeling. By taking the time to understand why they are struggling, we can find kind, practical ways to help them feel safer and make everyday life more manageable.

I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour and over a decade of experience supporting dogs and their guardians through a wide range of challenges. My approach is compassionate, evidence-based and tailored to each individual dog and family. It is also kind, ethical and trauma-informed, with no judgement and no one-size-fits-all advice.
